Hello!

My name is Vitor and I more than love learning foreign languages. It's not a hobby anymore. It's my passion, it's my life. Learning languages and using them to communicate with people are two of the most pleasurable things in life for me.

I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and that's where I live now. I lived for about 8 years in Japan, in many small cities and also in Tokyo. I also studied in Russia for two months. If I could, I would live for a short while in many different countries in order to learn the language, interact with local people and know more about different cultures.

My mother tongue is Portuguese and I consider myself fluent in English and Japanese. That means that I feel I can say anything (or almost anything) I want in these languages. I'd say my level of Spanish and Russian is intermediate. I also know German grammar well, but I forgot many words and haven't been practicing speaking in German with anyone lately. Right now I'm trying to study it again and improve it. Same thing with French, Italian and Finnish. Oh, and Korean.

Of course it's very difficult to find time to learn all these languages at the same time, but these are the languages I want to focus on right now. There's a long list of languages that I'm interested in. Some of them I have studied just for a month or two, other ones just for a week(end). My dream is to have time for all of them!

I created this blog to help me learn more, by posting here texts I have already posted on a site called Lang-8. This is an amazing tool for learning, practicing and experiencing languages, as you can be in touch with native speakers who will correct your mistakes, give you grammar and vocabulary advices, besides teaching you a thousand things about their country and culture.

I intend to post here the corrected versions of everything I've posted on that site. That will help me assimilate the correct or more natural ways of saying things in different languages and I will also be able to post pictures and let other people know of Lang-8 and about my thoughts and feelings.

If you also like learning languages, I would love to become friends and hear your thoughts and feelings about any language you are interested in!

Nice to meet you!
